Mosquitos eradication and environmental imbalance
Name: Melissa C Cozzi
We are doing a science forum on eliminating mosquitos. Our group has the
topic of against the elimination but controlling the population by draining
swamps and wetlands. Will this cause an imbalance?
What will happen?
Just some ideas for you to think about while you prepare your argument. Think
about what "draining the swamps and wetlands" might do to all the other little
critters which used to love living there.
Also, consider how to keep the swamps drained. Do you see having a pump with
a very long extension cord to insure rain water would no longer collect there?
:) Consider the cost of trying to continue getting rid of what frogs might
consider their lunch. Does the cost in terms of dollars and changed
environment get repaid by the absence of mosquitoes.
