The Environmental Protection Agency was created in 1970 when President Nixon
signed the National Environmental Policy Act into law. You can learn more
about it from these books:

"Finding Your Way Through EPA." 1976 by USEPA

"Your Guide to EPA." 1980 by USEPA

"EPA Career Choices: Working Toward a Better Environment." 1977 by USEPA.

"The EPA." 1988 by Kevin Law.

"Index of EPA Legal Authority: Statutes and Legislative History." 1974
by USEPA.

Also for a discussion of the pros and cons of the EPA, see Science Magazine,
Volume 261 (1993) pages 1373-1375.

Your teachers and librarian should be able to help you find these
books and magazines.
