Converting fusion energy to electric power

Index Key: ENG015

Subject: Converting fusion energy to electric power.
If a self-sustaining fusion reaction is ever created on earth, how will the
resulting energy be converted to useful power?

The neutrons emitted in the fusion reaction carry most of the energy that is
generated. These neutrons will be absorbed in a blanket of liquid lithium
surrounding the reactor and this lithium will be circulated to a steam
turbine to produce power.
