What are other uses for Virtual Reality other than for game use?

Replies:
Architectural design, interior decorating, fashion(?!), chemical engineer- ing, demographics, mission planning, battle strategy; indeed, almost anything in which visualization helps you understand or build something better.

An RL example: ARPA (the Advanced Research Projects Agency) has a program called SBD for Simulation-Based Design that is a VR shipyard. "Ships were selected to demonstrate SBD technology because they are among the most complex machines made by man." "Phase II involves...actually building a ship inside the computer and being able to interact with it through three-dimensional images." reference: "From the Labs...", Lockheed Palo Alto Research Laboratory, Mar/Apr 1995, issue 11.
