Spinning Earth

What makes the Earth spin?

The real question is why it keeps spinning.   There is nothing to stop it
from spinning.  We do not know why it started.  Essentially the matter that
fell in to create the planet after the supernova must have been spinning. 
As it fell in and the planet formed, the spinning increased and we have it
today.  Only the tides slow it down.
