Tornadoes Avoiding Downtown Chicago

Text:       In general why do tornadoes stay away from the downtown area of 
Chicago?

Text:        Basically, just luck and the law of averages.  There is some 
thought that the heat island from the city disrupts the storm, but I believe 
that is not a confirmed thing.  There is actually no reason other than so far 
they have been lucky.
