Question:
If a self-sustaining fusion reaction is ever created on earth, how will the resulting energy be converted to useful power?



Replies:
The neutrons emitted in the fusion reaction carry most of the energy that is generated. These neutrons will be absorbed in a blanket of liquid lithium surrounding the reactor and this lithium will be circulated to a steam turbine to produce power.
