Text: Gyroscopes are used in satellites mainly for keeping them pointed
precisely in one direction as they orbit around the earth or as they pass by
some other planet or moon (like the Voyagers). The spin axis of the gyroscope
maintains a fixed direction independent of the motion of the satellite.
