Picric Acid

(Created prior to 1993)

Question: What is the best way of disposing picric acid?

How it is stored now. DO NOT MOVE IT! If it is dried out, it
can be EXTREMELY SHOCK SENSITIVE! Shock sensitive means that it can explode
on movement! I would suggest that you call the local fire department and/or
chemical waste management company. They should be able to tell you were to go
for removal. It is important that you have absolutely no contact with the
chemical!! Let the professional handle it. DO NOT EVEN OPEN IT TO SEE ITS
CONDITION!
