Question:
What is leukemia?
Replies:
Leukemia is a form of cancer in which any one of the several
kinds of white blood cells multiplies rapidly in the bone marrow. These cells
do not mature, so they cannot fight infection, and they overcrowd the red
blood cells so the blood cannot carry enough oxygen. People may die of
leukemia from bleeding or infection. There are promising treatments, such as
bone marrow transplants.
