Surgery for cataracts?

Author: don meissner
Text: Is there any other treatment for cataracts of the eye lens
besides taking the lens out surgically? I thought I had heard about some
chemical intervention that dissolved the opacity.

Text: I think I have heard of that too but I am not sure of how well it
works and technically it would still be considered a surgical procedure since
I think a needle is still required to inject the chemical into the lens.
