Grebes and Mating
Name: Jeff C.
Do grebes mate for life ?
The Birder's Handbook says "mating is believed to be monogamous" for
pied-billed, horned and eared grebes. However, that does not mean that if
something happens to one mate that the other will not mate again, or that an
occaisional interloper will never disrupt a mated pair.
