Radiosondes and Suspension Length
Name: Brian Status: Other Grade: N/A Location: MA Country: N/A Date: 11/2/2005
Question:
Why are radiosondes hung on such a long string below the balloon and parachute?
Replies:
Brian,
The long string helps to reduce the sway of the radiosonde package in the wind as it and the balloon rise.
