Question:
Why is metal magnetic, could I have a basic response(not to
technical)
Replies:
Electrons have intrinsic spin which gives rise to a magnetic moment.
Metals tend to have these spins line up and hence their magnetic moment,
this causes magnetism-particularly ferromagnetism.
