Question:
Can a fan be powered by water or anything else.
Replies:
Just about anything that has energy, from falling water to sunlight
to a falling rock, could be used to power a fan. How the energy is
used to turn the fan depends on what you are trying to get it from.
For most fans the energy of water (or burning coal) is converted to
electricity. The electricity is used by a motor attached to the fan
blade to turn the blade. However, the fan blade could be turned by
a falling rock, tied in a rope which winds around the fan blade
shaft.
