Question:
How would you calculate friction between a rolling ball bearing and a hard surface such a PVC pipe/flexible tubing? Is there any constants, or would we have to calculate it? If so, how?

Replies:
The mechanics of a sphere rolling across either a hard, soft, or sticky surface is very complicated. I do not recall seeing it treated in any of "standard" texts or references.
