Question:
I understand how the double helix of DNA takes shape, but why does there need to be two strands when only one of the strands is the coding for transcription?


Replies:
Ask yourself two questions: what would happen to a single stranded DNA if it broke verse a single strand break in a double stranded molecule and also how would a single stranded molecule know how to fix a base deletion or replacement...???
