Question:
What were some technological advancements that helped scientists develop the theory of plate tectonics?

Replies:
There is a spellbinding best selling book entitled "Krakatoa" that gives the story of that famous volcano. Part of the book deals with the development of the theory of plate tectonics. You can find a lot out there, and in addition read a book that is hard to put down.
