Question:
Why do you sometimes have to eat food or drink milk with pills?
Is it because of a chemical reaction with HCl in your stomach or what?
Thank you
Replies:
Your stomach responds to the presence of food by getting the metabolism
going. So if there's a medication mixed in with the food, it goes into
your system faster, I would imagine. Some drugs will also be irritating
to the stomach if in there alone so food and/or milk helps this out.
I'm not a doctor or pharmacist so these are just guesses.
