My lawn is becoming over run with quack grass. I'm considering total kill. Before I do so I would be interested in your opinion on overseeding. Will this choke out the quack and leave me with a healthy lawn. Everything which I've been able to read up on states the only way is to kill all growth and start over again.

Dear Kenneth,

No, overseeding with lawn grass will probably not get rid of the weeds. The weeds are fast-growing and better competitors so you need to deal with the weeds first.
